Objective
- To automate the process of assigning internal product reference codes using NDC (National Drug Code) identifiers and generic product codes

Approach
- Standardized the NDC code and defined the structure of the master record, including key attributes like NDC, generic product code, internal product reference code, product description, manufacturer, etc.
- Defined and documented the business rules for identifying matching products based on NDC and generic product codes

Outcome
- Built and maintained tables that map NDC codes and generic product codes to their corresponding internal product reference codes
- Established a data governance process for updating and maintaining the cross-reference tables
- Data standardised to 11-digit NDC code
